What materials can be laser cut and engraved?

We cut perspex (acrylic), wood, MDF, plywood, fabric, paper, board, leather and foam, and engrave wood, leather, perspex, board and coated metal. Different materials behave very differently — perspex cuts to a clean polished edge, while wood takes on a characteristic toasted edge that many designs use deliberately.

What is the difference between laser engraving and printing a logo?

Engraving removes or marks the surface of the material, so the logo is physically part of the item and cannot peel, scratch off or fade. Printing adds ink or a transfer on top, which allows full colour but is a surface layer. Engraving is single-colour by nature — the colour is whatever the material becomes when marked.

What file format do you need for laser cutting?

Vector line art — AI, EPS, DXF or a vector PDF — with cutting paths and engraving areas on clearly separated layers. Raster images such as JPEG or PNG have to be traced into vectors first, which adds cost and can lose fine detail, so supply vectors where you can.

Can you laser cut perspex signage letters?

Yes. Cut perspex letters and logos are one of the most common reception and interior signage solutions, because the cut edge is clean enough to be part of the finish. We can cut individual letters, mounted logo plates or layered builds that stand off the wall.

Can you engrave onto products we supply?

Yes, subject to the material and the shape. Wood, leather, perspex and coated metal all engrave well. Send us a sample or the exact product specification before the run so we can test settings — engraving is permanent, so it is worth proving on one unit first.
